Shipping industry reiterates support for inclusion of Indian ship recycling yards on the European List

Following INTERTANKO's Press Release welcoming the EC’s proposal to include Indian ship recycling yards on the European List, the industry alliance (including INTERTANKO) has written an open letter to the Environment and Transport Ministers at the European Union.

The draft European List of Ship Recycling Facilities will be discussed at the Ship Recycling Regulation Committee next week, and the joint industry letter reiterates our support for the proposal and calls on EU Member States to deliver a positive opinion on the inclusion of the two Indian ship recycling facilities.

A further update will be issued once details on the outcome of the discussions are known.
